Why name your business ‘Metkat Marketing’?

One of the questions I am often asked as a small business owner is, "What is Metkat?"

Well, it's a nickname I've had since I was 12 that combines my favorite band of all time, Metallica & Kathryn (met + kat = metkat).

In 2019, I was thinking about starting a side hustle marketing business, but I couldn't think of a great company name. The term 'Metkat' felt too weird, and I wasn't sure if clients would know what it meant or if it would sound professional. I was completely stalled—and then I got an email that would change my life.

I had made a donation to All Within My Hands Foundation (Metallica) (Metallica's charity organization) to win backstage passes to meet the band - AND I WON!

It was a dream come true! I remember working with their marketing team, organizing the event details and thinking to myself, "This has got to be the best job ever!" I can't wait till I have the opportunity to do something like this someday!

After meeting the band (and surprisingly not making a fool of myself), it was clear that Metkat was meant to be, and that's authentically my brand. Since then, my love for what I do has grown exponentially.

Metkat Marketing was created from love, and now I have the opportunity to use that same love to create works and words of art for my clients.
